A24 recently unveiled a fresh trailer for “Civil War,” the upcoming political thriller helmed by Alex Garland. The preview offers a gripping glimpse into a nation teetering on the edge of disintegration. It depicts a fractured United States in the throes of internal conflict. The storyline tracks a cohort of journalists navigating the chaos, grappling with survival amidst the widespread violence engulfing the country.

The synopsis outlines a near-future scenario where the United States is in a severe civil war. A team of journalists embarks on a perilous journey across the nation, attempting to navigate the escalating conflict. The government has transformed into a dictatorship in this dystopian setting, and the nation is gripped by widespread chaos. The cast of “Civil War” includes Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, Jesse Plemons, Nick Offerman, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno, and Jonica T. Gibbs, with Gregory Goodman, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich further serving as producers. Also, Alex Garland, known for directing “Ex Machina” (2014), “Annihilation” (2018), and “Men” (2022), wrote and directed the film. His previous works include writing “28 Days Later” (2002), “Sunshine” (2007), and “Dredd” (2012).

“Civil War” holds the distinction of being A24’s most expensive movie with a $50 million budget, and though initially set to release on April 26, 2024, A24 rescheduled it to hit U.S. Theaters earlier on April 12, 2024.
